Land area calculator
Compute your parcel’s area from GPS coordinates or by drawing on the map, in any Arab coordinate system — in feddan, qirat, sahm, and m², with a rigorous geodesic area and the perimeter.

How we compute land area accurately
Computing a parcel’s area from coordinates looks trivial, but the correct method depends on the coordinate type. GPS coordinates (latitude/longitude on WGS 84) lie on an oblate ellipsoid, so the planar polygon formula does not apply to them directly. We therefore compute a geodesic area on the ellipsoid with Karney’s algorithm — the same engine PROJ/pyproj use — giving the true area on the ground, millimetre-accurate for short edges.
When your points are in a projected kilometric grid (Egypt’s Red/Blue belts, UTM, or Gulf systems), we also show the planar grid area on that system. It differs from the geodesic value by the scale factor squared, so we surface both honestly rather than hiding the gap. Results appear in m², in feddan/qirat/sahm using the official cadastral constants, and in hectare/dunum for regional use.
All of this runs in your browser with no data upload. For land registration, inheritance splits, and official approval, an estimate is no substitute for a certified field survey — which the GeoGiza team provides.
